When they got married about twenty years ago my parents lived in a small room crowded with furniture. But now we have moved into a big new three-room apartment. One afternoon on my way home I saw an accident: a car hit an old man!

I shouted to the pedestrians for help but no one stopped. When the car driver saw this he quickly closed the window Of the car and drove away. "What shall I do? The old man needs help." I thought.

At that time a truck stopped and out came the driver. "What's wrong with the old man boy? What could I do?" the driver asked me. "Uncle please help the old man. A car hit him and he is badly injured! "I said. "Well don't worry. Let me take him to the hospital.'' the driver said.

A few minutes later the driver took the old man to the hospital and I telephoned the police station. I told the whole story to the police and I also told them the number of the car. The police said to me "Well done boy! Leave it to us. He must be punished!" Then I went to the hospital to see the old man.

When I got home it was 7:30. I think what I did was fight.

My home village is a small one. It's in Yuxian county of Shanxi Province. Small as it is it's very beautiful.

There are many hills around my home village and they are more beautiful than some big mountains. In spring we can fly kites which are made by ourselves on the top of the hills. The kites fly very high. In summer the trees are green and the grass is green too. It is green everywhere on the hills. There are so many wild apple trees on the hills. The wild apples are nice to eat. In autumn the corns under and around the hills are ripe. So we eat them almost every day. In winter when it snows all the ground is covered with snow. We can play with snow and sometimes we eat the clean snow with sugar. In my hometown the sky is blue the air is clean the water is sweet and the people are very friendly. I love my hometown!

2009年高考英语第一轮复习从八月中到三月初，主要目的是基础能力过关。
一、明确复习目的，理清思路
无论做什么事首先要明确目的。高考英语试题在重视英语基础知识的同时，突出对语言运用能力的考查，形成了以篇章阅读为主体的试题布局。高三复习的最终目的是提高学生的语言运用能力，但知识是能力的基础，对能力的测试必然要结合对知识的测试，这是对学生多年积累的、系统化的、活化的知识的测试：大量的知识考查通过能力测试得以实现，熟练掌握英语基础知识正是为发展英语运用能力做准备。例如在做“阅读理解”时，如果学生复习时没有熟练掌握英语基础知识，就理解不了解构复杂的句子，看不懂篇章内容，这又如何能正确地解答试题呢？同样，做“书面表达”试题时，如果没有一定量的词汇知识和语法知识，就谈不上正确的英语表达，怎么可能写出通顺的英语短文？
然而，高三复习不应是对已学知识的简单重复和强化，而是一个再学习、再认识、提高理解能力和运用能力的过程，在短暂的高考复习中应该兼顾语言知识的掌握和语言能力的培养。
复习知识是为了运用知识，而网络化的知识更便于运用和有利于学科能力的培养。学生只有经过对所学的教材进行层层挖掘才有希望把知识形成网络。这对其实现知识向能力的迁移有重要的影响，有利于实际运用能力的提高，并在应考中运用自如。
二、制定计划，按部就班
从近几年来的高考试题来看，死记硬背，强化训练，沉湎于“题海战术”是难以出好成绩的。将中心和重心放在单项填空上是不合时宜的。因此，要根据自己的实际情况，也可请求老师的帮助，制定出切实可行的复习计划。做到按部就班，有条不紊，循序渐进。训练要有计划、有针对性，如第一轮复习应该夯实基础，以一本好的资料为主，做好预习——复习——练习三部曲。
三、夯实双基，构建知识网络，发展能力
近年来高考英语试题逐渐侧重于语言能力的考查，对语言知识的直接考查相对地减少了。在高考总复习中，首先应该花大力气去巩固各项基础知识，同时要通过不断的语言练习，掌握一定的技巧，这是高考取得优良成绩的根本前提。在此基础上，再通过科学系统的训练，发展能力，就会受到事半功倍的效果。
第一，要在老师的帮助下构建知识网络。在老师的帮助下，在认真学习和研究《大纲》以及《考试说明》的基础上，按照知识的内在联系，将其要点进行分类整理，内容包括词汇、句型、语法、交际用语、篇章结构等方面从而使六年所学的零散的、孤立的知识有机地结合起来，使已学知识网络化，形成一个完整的知识体系，从而摸索出带有规律性的东西。
第二，要加强词汇、短语的记忆。要避免单纯地死记硬背，应善于寻找词汇、短语之间的联系，应注意结合语境，在理解的基础上熟记典型例句和常用搭配，总结规律，并根据自己的记忆特点，选择科学的记忆方法。记忆单词应和阅读结合起来，把单词融入句子中和语境中，利用上下文来帮助记忆。
如复习suggest马上想到suggest doing结构，suggest that sb（should）do sth.结构，以及它表示“暗示”“启发”“使人想起”等意义时的用法。复习动词，一要记住其惯用法，二要记住由它们构成的词组或短语。例如复习动词give要联想到give in，give up，give away，give off，give back等短语的意义区别和具体用法。
第三，要以教材和考纲为依据，系统掌握教材内容，过好语言基础知识关，要特比重视词汇的掌握，大纲和考纲所列基本词汇要做到音、形、义和基本用法的落实。同时，词汇掌握不要局限在教材和大纲之内，平时报刊资料泛读中要加强对社会生活常用词汇和热点词汇的了解和积累，近年高考的完形填空和阅读理解当中就出现了不少中学生阅读的英文报刊上频频出现的新鲜词，造成理解的障碍。基础语法复习要理清基本线索，突出重点。比如动词的时态、语态、情态和非谓语形式以及从句等重要的词法、句法内容要掌握好。复习中切忌钻牛角尖，去做大量偏题怪题。要培养熟练掌握正确的遣词造句能力、组句成文的能力和运用语言知识解决问题的能力，培养对英语语法知识的识记、理解以及词汇知识在语境中的辨析和灵活运用的能力。
第四，要有针对性地加强运用练习。通过结合高考考点进行针对性训练，在很短的时间内复习完所有的语言知识，提高复习效率，以便有充裕的时间进行听力、完形填空、阅读等专项能力训练和模拟训练，避免在复习课本知识和培养能力之间顾此失彼。在此基础上，在通过科学系统的训练，前面提高英语交际能力，从而收到事半功倍的效果。
第五，要以实践原则指导高考复习，促进能力转化。在高考复习阶段，有的学生英语基础不错，可实际运用英语的能力就是不强，其原因在于学生缺乏语言实践。语言的特点就是实践性和交际性，知识的掌握和语言能力的形成只有靠大量的语言实践。多实践练习，则熟能生巧，能力就会自然提高。现在的高考越来越突出强调考察运用英语的能力。既然高考是以考核听、读、写能力为主，那么这些能力的培养只能靠不断地练习，在实践中使诸方面的能力逐步提高。语言实践的途径有许多，如听、说、读、写、背等。课堂时间毕竟有限，学生应该筹备足够的时间去消化和巩固所学内容，进行朗读、背诵、模拟练习、交际运用等多种形式的语言实践活动。
